As a field training aid, we wanted our own holding blind that I can use for Cooper. I located some Cordura nylon fabric with the requisite cornfield camo pattern and 60 inch step-in fence posts. Trice then spent a good part of Sunday engineering this 12 foot blind in our dining room (with the appropriate supervision).
In addition to Cooper’s approval of the details as seen in the top photo, it was time to field test it as well. Cooper knows that where there is a blind, there must be ducks. So with little prompting, he took up position and waited for me to plant a few bumpers in the tall grass. He stayed put until I returned, and then we set off to track down the wily bumper. So Trice’s efforts passed the test.
In order to test the blind and get Cooper’s approval, I had to change training locations because Sunday’s rains flooded our normal fields. The field as seen in the previous post from Saturday, June 5th, is now totally submerged. Great for water work though.
